Question The Run program won't work (Windows 10)

When I try to use the run program and try to open a file (for example %temp% or %appdata%), it always brings up the prompt asking "How do you want to run this file?" as if I was opening a new file type for the first time. Is there any way to fix this?

More information needed:

What file types are you trying to open/run?

What software do you have to open/run those file types?

Have you configured any default settings to use, for example application "X" to run file type "Y"?

That’s not how you use the run command you put those in the windows explorer address to go to those locations

%temp% and %appdata% are directories and thus not runnable. What exactly are you trying to do?
