The RX 480 & R9 390

Looking at the RX 480 and R9 390, I really have no idea which on to choose. Right now they are around the same price (£200-£250), however I would like to know which one has a greater performance, longevity and value. I have seen benchmarks and the 390 edges out the 480 in most circumstances, but will the 480's driver updates really close the gap?
Additionally is it worth seeing how the custom RX 480's will perform, or should I invest in a 390 soon?

custom rx 480 equally to 390 with half of power draw people are overestimated the 480x its just a product that changed from the 28nm to 16nm with more capabilities and better performance per watt nothing revolutionary

Benches show 390 with edge but not in all cases. 480 much less power draw so obvious choice. Partner cards with factory oc will improve.
