My XS MAX didn't break.
Also, in my memory, there was no strong shock.
But suddenly there was a problem with the screen.
  1. There are vertical lines on the screen.
  2. There is a part that does not touch the screen.
(Typically slide to power off)
The repair center says the iPhone's glass is not broken, but the iPhone is damaged and the screen is damaged.
What do you think? I do not know how to understand these issues.

Solution
Verticle lines in the screen typically indicate damage to the screen underneath the glass surface of your phone, which can also include damage to the digitizer (the surface that actually reacts to your touch).
It is possible to damage one or both of these without breaking the glass.
However, its generally pretty obvious when damage like this occurs, there should be some sign of physical damage on the phone somewhere.
Also, which "repair center" is this? Are they apple themselves? or at least apple certified?

Regardless of how it happened, the phone is damaged.
