The start menu and taskbar doesn't respond while I right-click on them

So, this all started when I tried to go to the Start Menu and right-click on it and it didn't respond, the problem lasted 5 minutes and then, on the second try, it happened again and then, on the third time, the start menu didn't respond but when I was refreshing the desktop, it got no programs on it, but after some minutes, it got normal again, but the start menu still didn't got fixed so I forced the shutdown, and then, after rebooting it, it started a message error with the disk read. I tried to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete. It got me into another message with a boot disk or something like that. I closed it down, waited some minutes, it got fixed by itself, but the problem didn't got fixed yet. I tried to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete but it didn't work. Was it the hard drive's problem? Should I go to the Repair Shop or not? :|

How long have you had your hard drive? There could've been a head crash. you should probably backup your files, and check for corrupted ones.
