I'm getting this issue at startup in laptop (4430s proBook):
"The System has Detected the Storage Capacity of the Battery stored below to be very low. For optimal performance this battery may need to be replaced.
Primary (internal) battery [Error code 601]"

So my Questions are:
* Does I really have to buy a new CMOS battery for it?
* If I didn't replace it with new CMOS battery, then what happens?
* What kind of optimal performance this message is trying to say?

You are wrong about CMOS battery. If you are right then on direct power without battery, why date, time and BIOS settings remains the same? and why error message still shown without battery?

So change the CMOS battery, and see what happens.
They cost about a dollar.

Yes, you are right, Primary Battery is not CMOS battery.
