[SOLVED] The System has Detected the Storage Capacity of the Battery

I'm getting this issue at startup in laptop (4430s proBook):
"The System has Detected the Storage Capacity of the Battery stored below to be very low. For optimal performance this battery may need to be replaced.
Primary (internal) battery [Error code 601]"

So my Questions are:
* Does I really have to buy a new CMOS battery for it?
* If I didn't replace it with new CMOS battery, then what happens?
* What kind of optimal performance this message is trying to say?

Solution
that's not the cmos battery (which provides power to the mobo whilst the system is off), that's you main laptop battery.

Put it through a few charging cycles, 25%>100%>25% repeat and see what happens.

So change the CMOS battery, and see what happens.
They cost about a dollar.
