Failed list. World of Warcraft is the most sold game ever. Even now it keeps selling the original World of Warcraft and then the xpacs. Throughout almost 8 years that game kept bringing new players to the game.

WoW before digital distribution, I say before digital distribution, had over 10 million subscribers.

WoW has never been free to play. Again, WoW has never been free to play. Meaning that nobody has ever paid just $15.00 for a one month subscription without "BUYING" the game first....

Easily, WoW has the most retail sales. Whoever wrote this article shouldn't have written it at all.

Way, way different than the types of best-selling console games. PC gaming shows a lot more variety in popular genres.

i agree with the guy that said you need to look at percentages, not total sales. A crappy game today may sell millions, but that's just because there are 100 times more PC's than there were 20 years ago.

bf3 and wither2 because i am playng right now but man there so many great games im new to pc gaming only a few years agoii was playng consoles but cannot anymore i love theses intense graphics well maybe fighting online games are the exception

Either way how does one correlate retail sales with total subscription? I would assume there be a 1:1 ratio since each unique subscription needs it own copy of the game.
