It is true that the 80 Plus white or bronze that can damage your pc if a power failure occurs
Or just one day you damage the pc?

Solution
Has absolutely nothing in the world to do with its 80+ rating and everything to do with the quality of components inside and safety parts. There are 80+ (white as you called it) suppies that are safer than some gold rated ones.

That rating system is merely a rating of how efficiently it distribute power based on it's power draw

80+ refers to the watt rating so a 600w 80+ will consistently put out 80% or better of yhat 600w the bronze or gold ratings are relevent to quality of parts meaning they will last longer under heavy load and less likely to fail and burn up internal parts due to psu failure.

While this is accurate, there's at least some correlation. Though obviously it shouldn't be relied on as a proxy for quality.

I said *some* correlation, not something you can rely on. But if you give me 50 80+ units and 50 80+ gold units, I guarantee that as a group, the latter will tend to also be of better quality otherwise.

I think of it like bacon. A doctor should do way more than ask you how much bacon you eat a day to diagnose your physical health. But if all you know about two people is that one person doesn't eat bacon and the other person eats a pound every morning, if that's all the information you have to make a decision on who is healthier, you should probably take the former.

I'd love if people all did their homework and based their power supply purchases primarily on platform dissections and oscilloscope testing, but sadly, we know they won't and if they're going to go in blind, they'll accidentally pick a good 80+ Gold PSU a lot more often than they accidentally pick a good 80+ PSU.

(In other words, we essentially agree, but I'm a habitual nitpicker).

Oh hell there are two of you making the same boarderline point. Thought u and the other guy were one and the same. What you're saying isn't wrong, just the inference isn't right either. If you sort by lowest price at a given wattage and gold. You'll get crap just like you will at bronze and 80+. :)
