I'm just trying to game on my TV. My xbox works perfectly fine. That's probably because i'm using HDMI for that. But when i want to hook up my wii or playstation 2 or any other console that has AV cords, the image comes out black and whitle. The TV also says it's a component even though i have it in the AV slots.

Since the component and composite share the same plug, you'll have to tell the TV which one you're using it for, you probably have it set to component right now, just use the remote and switch the input to composite (or whatever name the TV uses for the yellow... usually like "video 1" or something like that)

You're plugged into the Y plug (of the three Y / Cb / Cr plugs that component has). That gives you a black and white image if you don't have the Cb and Cr components plugged in. Is this one of the TVs where the Y plug doubles as the composite (yellow) input?
