Windows 10 is poorly programmed,a mix of source codes from Windows 8 and Windows 7 + a few changes and that's Windows 10,I have tested a lot of Operating systems,From Windows 95 to the latest version of 10,complex software that i used in Windows 7 didn't work at all with Windows 10,
I have experiecnced a lot of weird bugs and problems, from start menu crashes,Windows Store crashes, and installed software that suddenly do not run.
Complex simulations and emulations won't even start.
It also effects games, and the most embarssing thing is the a game from Microsoft themselves crashes because of Windows 10...
and it's Quantum Break:

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/quantum-break-pc-crash-fix-requires-microsoft-to-u/1100-6439332/

http://betanews.com/2015/09/15/windows-10-is-shaping-up-to-be-the-most-unstable-release-since-millennium-edition-me/

Windows 10 doesn't care about me
from forcing me to have useless software,to send my data to the microsoft servers for the use of ads,
That data worth money and microsoft just take it from you, with the opearting system you have paid for.
I used Windows 10 Enterprise 64bit which is not targeted from the avearge user,
It has the most features, even more than the pro version and still has the useless software and one drive that in normal ways you can't delete it.
and the updates just do whatever they want...

Conclusion
Windows 10 the most unstable OS i have ever seen, even Windows Vista's code was much better.
I spent more time on fixing problems than using the OS.
After removing all the junk and spying with DWS(http://dws.wzor.net/) The system used less than 1GB of ram on idle,no internet usage with DWS on idle,no stupid pop ups.
even after DWS and disabling manually windows update,I had a problem with the UI...
There are 2 things drom everything- 2 control panels (Settings and Control Panel),2 Music players (Groove music player and Windows media Player)...
Why not having one control panel for everything?,Why all of this mess and confusion?
Why forcing users to use "One drive" and other useless things the uses the system's resources?
I use Windows 7 on all my computers and dual boot with Windows 10 on my main computer for DX12 games only...
I bought almost evey Windows version since Windows 95,
I own: 95,98,XP Proffesional,Vista Home Premium,7 Ultimate,I tested Windows 10 Enterprise in the lab of my work place.
Windows 7 was very stable even from it's early versions,I decided to use the RC version in my main computer until the RT version is released.

<- 8 computers upgraded to Windows 10, better performance on all, 0 problems of any sort.

If you don't like it , downgrade.

And that's your experience. I have a system that hasn't crashed ever and been up for like 6 months and it only has 2GB ram and an old old old core2duo.

From your own link "“Microsoft has identified a Windows 10 memory management issue which may cause Quantum Break to crash on some GPU,” the developer said."

Crash on some GPU's. And FYI, MS is only the publisher of the game, they didn't make it. Remedy games did and obviously didn't beta test enough or else they would known about the issue and worked from there.

Then some cherry picked review from 9 months ago, well, I'm convinced that's it's horrible based off that and not the 10+ PC's in my house that run it fine on a daily basis.

And it was a clean install.
Tested on:

My experience is mixed. With my main PC (started on a Z77 platform and moved to Z170 with a GTX 980) Windows 10 was horrid. Constant repairs, errors and such even after clean installs with only basic programs added. Just awful. Went back to Windows 7, zero problems.

On my crappy little HTPC from 2003 with a 3-core AMD and a HD 5450, upgraded to Win 10 for free and no problems.

My only suggestion to people is that if they want to try Windows 10, get a second disk to install it on, so if you don't like it you can just swap back, because once it's sunk its hooks in a drive, the only way to revert your Windows version is a wipe.

Very intresting,,,
It still points that there is some serious problems with Windows 10,some encounter it,some not,
But still complex software from early windows versions are not working on 10,Even in compability mode.

Would that "complex software" by any chance be software from the XP era?

I've been an IT consultant since before "IT" was a well used acronym. I've worked with and used every version of DOS and Windows. In my humble opinion Windows 10 is a fine system and most but not all my customers are happy with the product. I have noticed that most of the Windows 7 and 8 upgrades (with existing user software) work fine. On occasion I need to update printer and video drivers. I will say that doing a clean install on an older system, then installing some older user software has caused problems.

Now, I typically do a clean install with Windows 7 add the user software , then do the Windows 10 upgrade.

Nope,Windows 7 era,It's a emulation software from 2010.

I'd run it in a VM if I were you. I have to concur with the previous posters on having had no issue whatsoever with 10.
Quite the contrary, windows 10 is excellent but, by no means perfect, yet, by far teh best version of windows.
And all teh telemetry stuff can be mitigated.
Oh, and it's alot more stable then 7.

Well, this certainly looks to be a surefire way to get the attention of just about every GrandMaster, Master, Authority and Expert on this site! I almost feel sorry for the guy... (almost).

Anyway...

Despite the availability of retail Windows 10 licences, which should be bug-free, I still consider Windows 10 very much a work in progress. I've been through Preview Builds for year now and for a non-techie such as myself, it's been quite a scary ride! Fortunately, the last 3-4 builds have been fairly stable, and most of the complaints have been answered. But it will still crash, stall etc and, yes, there are still bugs that need to be addressed.

That said, I must commend Microsoft for taking what seems to be a completely new approach to their OS design. If you expect Win10 to be a revised/improved version of Win7, you're going to be sorely disappointed. Microsoft really tried to make the jump already with Win8 but that turned out to be too premature and too ambitious at the time.

In my opinion, Win7 was the last "traditional OS" - i.e. tech-driven - whereas Win10 reflects the new era of consumer-driven devices with massive inter-connectivity anywhere, anytime; just look at your smartphone or your tablet, even your car and kitchen. The telemetry debate is dark road that I'm not going down.

I don't have the solid tech background to comment on the underlying architecture of Win10 v. Win7, but Microsoft clearly decided that something radical was needed to compete successfully with Android, cloud-based computing and increasingly fickle users, both business and private. Windows 10 seems to be the OS that could meet that goal.

Cheers,
GreyCatz.

And Moderators as well. Threads like this have a tendency to devolve into flame wars, and this one has faint signs of heading that way. A reminder to all participants that civility is required at all times. Name calling and personal attacks will not be tolerated and may lead to thread deletion and sanctions being meted out. A couple of posts here have skirted close to the line without crossing over, let's keep it that way.

You're assuming there is a new, updated version that does everything the OP needs it to do. If developers would stop breaking stuff left and right every time they update, people would be less reluctant to get the new version.

that's the problem with the PC world. there are an infinite number of configurations of hardware and software out there.

just think of how stable and reliable windows would be MS didn't have to worry about keeping backward compatibility with old software/hardware.

Lol, oh man...where do I begin. I was glad to find this thread though, lol, Ill bet they are easy to find.
Windows 10. Can someone tell me why microsoft would realease an os that doesnt work yet?
I bought a HP Pav G7 2293nr. 18" screen!! 1 terrabite and 8 gig. Now, I only have 4 gig! How does THAT happen!? Lol. None of my games can be installed because the code wont work anymore. And...yes! Very true! Even Microsoft Flight Simmulater...the best PC flight simm as far as I am concerned and !engineered by microsoft!...will start but crashes constantly and cannot be played. And THAT...is a bummer. Sigh microsoft...Shockwave flash and pepperflash crash constantly and make online game playing difficult to impossible and stall normal opperations....theres more...I mean...I bought this gaming laptop and I cant game on it because of windows 10! What a colossal waste of money(I see an x-box in my future). Because of windows 10, I use my gateway nc55 with a 15" screen and 2 gig of ram and 320 gig hd. Thanks a bunch microsoft.

Well what do you say to my multiple functioning Windows 10 machines? All perfectly fine.

Good thinking on the Xbox.

I dont know. What do you expect me to say. Im not a tech but I do think people should think twice about the habitual vocalizing thought best kept to themselves.

That doesn't quite make any sense. What you said sort of implies that Windows 10 is problematic for everybody's machine, that it is chaotic, crazy, gone wild. But then you have people like me, Rogue Leader, and countless others who have popped into this thread running Windows 10 without a blip on many machines. I was wondering what you think of that.
