Just happen to catch this new series on Prime, gotta say I like the high fantasy universe vibe, a light throwback to GoT but not so brutal yet. New episodes every Friday currently sitting on three episodes. Though I have read it doesn't follow the books purely and does take liberties, but being a non-reader of the series at all, I am ok with the series and I think this might fill the void that caved on the final disastrous GoT season.

Anybody else watching this? I like the unknown cast too except for some major names.

The price of adaptation often requires deviating from the source material. At 14 beefy volumes, the WoT needs to be very adapted to work in an episodic format.

All that aside, I enjoyed the first episodes and look forward to how this version of the story unfolds.

I have read them all, several times I admit, and was a bit crushed when Robert Jordan died. Brandon Sanderson did a decent job bringing to an end (albeit a prolonged ending).
