The Witcher 3 Help

Hi All,


Just bought my boyfriend The Witcher 3 as he just finished the witcher 2 and loved it.

It is lagging like crazy and we need some help!

We have tried turning nvidia hairworks off, turning it to fullscreen placing all settings on low. Having settings on low has helped but it still lags a bit.

Just wondering if our computer should or can even handle this game, would some software tweaks fix the problem or do we need new hardware,graphics card or just a new computer. We are quite bad at when it comes to computers so all or any info you have would be so so appreciated!!

HP Desktop
Windows 8.1

AMD A10-6700 APU
with Radeon HD Graphics
3.70 GHZ

16gb RAM

64 bit operating system
x64- based processer

Graphics card
AMD Radeon HD 8670d

Well, a few things:
1. His system is a bit on the lower side of what they want for running the game, but turning down the settings at 1080p should still be playable.

2. Does he have all the drivers updated?

3. Is the game updated to the newest version?

Update:
Oops I must be tired and missed the d on the end of that gpu. Bl@dy pointed it out and I had to double take on it. Yes, if that is indeed the integrated GPU, then upgrading to a dedicated GPU will greatly help.

Knowing what motherboard you have and what PSU you have will greatly help with that. Oh, and the case to know what GPU may fit.

i suggest buying a new graphic card

what motherboard you have? what make and model?
