Hi guys, I asking all the time but I can't really find videos on YouTube that have my setup so this is the best place to ask really. What FPS would I expect on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with ultra settings without hairworks on my system?

i7 3930k
GTX 980TI
16GB RAM
240GB SSD

You should use hairworks to be honest it makes the game look better,i mean you have a 980ti use it to it's full potential,i've finished the game twice with and without hairworks,honestly it looks really good especially on specific monsters they make them feel more polished and alive

Yeah resolution is what it comes down to. The CPU shouldn't limit performance (unless it's running at less than 1080p).

My resolution is 1920 x 1080p

You will likely get ~75-80fps delending on how far the boost or you oc the card.

So I should get a good 60-70FPS on the 980ti without boost or oc?

Yes as i believe they were testing a stock 980ti which does still boost itself.

I had 970 SLI which was about 10% faster than a single 980Ti and Witcher 3 ran in the mid-60s on average at 1440p. I never tested it at 1080p but mid-70s is what Guru3D got with a reference 980Ti at 1080p powered by an i7 5960X running at 4.3 GHz:

And Hairworks destroys the GPU. I do not find it worth the performance hit.

Thank you for helping guys. I bought the game and put everything to ultra with Hairworks off and I get high 70's to high 80 FPS which is great!

You should really try hairworks 4x its good
