There ar dark gold spots on the back of my Intel Core i3. I haven't used it for months now. What are the possible causes?

There are dark gold spots on the back of my Intel Core i3. I haven't used it for months now. What are the possible causes?

What are you defining as the back? If you mean the gold pad array on the base of the CPU its just oxidation, a bit of rubbing alcohol should help and the pins should be able to poke through as well so it shouldn't be an issue.
