Some time ago, when you bought a laptop, it was easy to open, to upgrade/replace parts.

Today all the laptops I saw, even the expensive ones, do force you to break parts to be open. They put rubber bands that you have to rip to access the screws, and expand after unglued, so you cannot paste them again, seals that you have to break, non replaceable batteries, plastic parts that make impossible to open without breaking, the manuals no more say the specifications clearly, so you can find how much memory they accept, and when you can find the specifications, they are really hard to find, super complex disassembly system, where you have to take out the keyboards, and screens away just to access the memory slots and storage.

For a while, you could buy some laptops designed to be easy to access, with clear documentation. No more. I can't find one.

Some laptops can only be open if you find some video on YouTube showing all the weird and unexpected ways in which manufacturers hide the screws and disassembly process.

Lenovo thinkpad units have so far been easy to upgrade.
Only ram and ssd upgrades are possible.
Look for reviews.
Also a search for youtube upgrades will show how easy/hard it is to open up.
Here for example is an article on how to upgrade a thinkpad x1 extreme:

If you want easily accessible internals for laptops, look for custom made laptops that allow you to configure you laptops. I know that in the UK, Scan pc have some easy accessible internal (at least when I bought it). Look for the desktop replacements and they should have better accessible internals.
