There is no option to turn off Intel Turbo boost Technology in the BIOS.

What do I do ? how do i know it is on or off ? is there a utility that lets me monitor it ?

Sure there are many programs to let you watch the speed increase during boost. CPUz, coretemp, speedfan, and to many more to post them all.

Check in BIOS, go into MB Intelligent Tweaker (M.B.I.T.). Then go into Advanced Frequency Settings. Then go into Advanced CPU Core Features. Then set Intel Turbo Boost Techn. to Disabled. If you don't have the option then probably not.

there is no MBIT option...I went through all settings in the BIOS and there is no mention of turbo boost...I guess it is always on ? because monitoring software indicates that it is indeed turbo boosting...just to let you know, my CPU is a a laptop CPU i7-2630QM 2.00 GHZ boosts to 2.90 GHZ
