there is smoke coming from my computer so please help

What does this mean? Hi, right now, I am on my phone and one problem is tha smoke tha smoke has been counsing problems, my kids weren't home, THANK GOD!!! So please help in any way possible, (has had computer for 10-12 years now...)

unplug it if you haven't. don't plug it back in. have a pro look at it or purchase a new machine.

Don't risk plugging it back in to test it out - take it to a professional if you think it worthwhile. Twelve is a good age for a computer and perhaps it's time to retire it.

2. try and clear it
3. look for stuff that is burn

you probly want to buy a new computer if it is 10-12 years old.

Take it to a professional to get it looked at, but for a 12 yr old PC, any 'fix' is probably more than it is worth.

But do not let anyone (the kids when they get home?) plug it back in to test it. Take it somewhere and tell the person exactly what happened.

Time for a new computer. No way is it worth putting money into a 12 year old system. That it lasted 12 years is impressive, you got a great return on investment, but it's time to move on.

Just a word of advice. If you get another computer, once a month or so, shut down the computer, open the case, and blow the dust out of it with a can of compressed air. Dust build up in the case will cause components to overheat and possibly catch fire.
