Hello. Recently, while putting together a new desktop computer, I noticed that a small amount of Thermal compound (silver based) got on several metal contacts both around and behind the PCI slot of the motherboard. Some of the compound so far behind the PCI slot that you cannot see it. As of yet I have not tried to turn on the computer because I fear that the compound may cause a short and potentially damage the components.
My question is: How do I effectively remove the thermal compound that is resting directly between the plastic portion of the PCI slot and the motherboard?
