Question thermal pad

is the thermal grizzly thermal pad minus pad 8 x120 x20 compatible with a gtx 1080 or can i use any thermal pads?

Don't use thermal pads on a GPU or CPU chip.
They're for things like VRM cooling.

thing is my old ones inside the gpu melted i replaced them with these and reapplied thermal paste opening an app or game puts my gpus at 100c

Ok. So you saw where the thermal pads were and simply replaced them. Nothing wrong with that. Not sure why the original ones "melted" though. That's a little concerning. May need to elaborate more on this.

When you replaced the thermal paste, did you clean the old stuff off (with rubbing alcohol on a paper towel) both the GPU chip and the heatsink before you applied new TIM? How much TIM did you apply? (Half a grain of rice is the correct answer to this question)

Actually, the carbonaut pads can be used for a cpu.
