Thermal paste CPU

I'm building a PC and I think I got thermal paste inside my CPU. Will anything go wrong? Also I took my CPU cooler off and on from the CPU itself, will any thing bad happen?

You need to clean the thermal paste from the underside of the CPU, it can disrupt the connection and cause problems. Removing and putting the CPU cooler back on without replacing the thermal paste can cause air bubbles in the paste, not a killer but won't give you the best cooling results.

What kind of CPU and cooler do you have?

I have an i7 8700k and masterair ma410p. Also will my CPU last long if thermal paste actually gets inside of the CPU? I don't think any got inside it but just want to know.
Thank you

Some thermal paste is conductive.
It can do no good if it gets in the electrical contact side of the cpu die.

I suspect the the risk of removing it with a gentile wipe and alcohol is less that hoping it will do no short or long term damage.

FWIW, it is hard to use too little paste.
A rice sized drop in the middle of the die will spread under heat and pressure.

The closer you come to metal to metal contact of the mating surfaces the better.
