Thermal paste for isopropanol alcohol

my father is doctor. I asked him to bring back isopropyl alcohol to remove the thermal paste and he brought back home the isopropanol alcohol. can I use isopropanol instead of isopropyl alcohol to remove the thermal paste ? does it less efficient ?

I believe it's the same thing. Same chemical formula C3H8O. I'd say your safe using it.

what your looking for is the about of water in the mix. most store stuf is 80/20 so that any water dryes off in a min or two after using. if dad has less watter then your better. just be carefull when i worked at wipre and prep in the 80 we started using on of these cleaners for wires over freano. down side was the fumes were very flammable.

No problem if you use a lint free cloth. That's what I use and it never caused an issue.
