Thermal paste -- freezone elite

Hi everyone,

I will receive my MSI eclipse next week and presently I used a coolit freezone elite to cool my CPU. That cooler have thermal tape apply to it when I receive it.
Did somone knows If it's better to replace the old tape with a new one or normal thermal paste will do the job ?
If i need to get new thermal tape theres some questions for you:

a - How can I replace the old one and put a new coat of thermal tape before put it on my i7.
b - Whats the cleaning process in the block. Did I have to used coffe filter and 99% isopropyl alchool ?
c - thermal tape ... Which to choose or they are just all the same

Always replace the old paste/tape/adhesive before re-using either the CPU, or heatsink.

a. remove the heatsink, and CPU.
b. Rubbing Alchohol, and Q-tips to clean the CPU and Heatsink.
c. I prefer thermal paste. Arctic Silver 5, or Arctic Silver Ceramiq. (about the size of a grain of rice, and spread it around with a finger/razorblade ect)
d. insert the CPU (with paste applied) into the MB.
e. put the heatsink on (be sure to line it up before pushing in the pins).
f. push in, and lock the pins on the heatsink.
g. done

regular white silicone.past is better than thermal tape and high end pasts like arctic silver are better than white past. Keep in mind the difference is no more than 5 degrees from the best to the worst

Also, try and avoid using your finger for spreading as oils from your skin can alter the cooling properties.

I normally remove thermal tape from cpu's and chipsets. I replace the tape with thermal compound. I've had very good results with IC Diamond 7 Carat compound:
