Please go easy on me, I have never had to deal with thermal paste and only know a little about it. My cpu has been very hot recently and I need help deciding if this is thermal paste and if it is safe for my cpu. I need thermal paste today and this is the only place that sells it and this is the only item that pops up.

It might work, but it is definitely not designed for that. It is electrically conductive, so you would have to be careful. I wouldn't recommend it. If you have Lowes nearby, I would think you would have a BestBuy. They show several thermal compounds on their website that are also available in-store (for me). I would recommend that first.
