Question Thermal paste on the side of CPU

So, I was cleaning my CPU from the thermal paste, I finished and I see a VERY thin layer of thermal paste on the side of the CPU (AMD) , I don't want to damage the pins so, can I just leave it there? I tryed to take it off with some paper and it's still there, it's a very thin layer and it is attached to the CPU.

It won't hurt anything to leave it there.

If you're pretty steady with your hands and if there is a protective foam support for the pin (don't know if they come with one anymore), you can use a pencil eraser to remove the extra paste.
