So I was building my pc and my stock heatsink wouldn't line up so when I was lining it up the stock thermal paste accidentally smudged against the cpu. I figured it would even out when i squished it down so I kept it, should I go to Best Buy and get new thermal paste to be safe or am I good? Here's some pics

Solution
while not ideal, it won't hurt your cpu (or any other components)
I would monitor your temps (try speccy)
if nothing is out of the ordinary i wouldn't bother with aftermarket paste

(even if there is too few paste, that would allow your cpu to overheat, it has built in protection, so worst case scenario, your cpu will cause your system to shut down when it gets too hot)
