I've bought two of Thermalright HR-07 for my Corsair XMS2, I've found out using a hairdryer how to get the original heatsinks off, but now there are still some glue left on the chips, should I leave it or should I remove it, and how?

To me, just the thought of that gunk under there would get to me.

I'm sure the rough glue surface is not a good for performance. Just like in cpu's.

However, those pads they give you might mitigate any of those problems by squishing into the open spaces.

Ask Thermalright ...

Remove it, I use some thermal paste remover by akasa but you can try to get it off with like a credit card then apply the hr-07 with w/e they supplied you with.

Interesting the hair dryer thing though.

Let us know how well it like overclocks afterwards :D
