Alright, so I've scowered the internet and found no answer.

Basically, the ultra-120 back plate comes with a plastic X and a little white square covering the adhesive. I took both off, leaving nothing but the adhesive and bare backplate. The computer is completely assembled now, but I'm worried. Is the plastic X that fits between the backplate and the board necessary for safe operation? I would hate to disassemble after all this work, but would hate even more to have this beautiful computer die.

What do you think?

-Thanks in advance

So you are saying you took off the just the white plastic covering on the foam? or you are saying you removed it all and left nothing but the adhesive residue and the backplate? If it is the first one you are FINE. if it is the second one you will need to take it back apart the backplate is made of metal which can once installed conduct electricity.
