I am just getting into multiple video card setups.

I have a Thermaltake 850w PSU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153062) that is a few years old and only comes with 2 6pin plugs. I am not sure about 12v rails and how they affect the performance of GPUs.

Can this power supply run 2x XFX 7850 GPUs if I use molex to 6 pin adapters for 1, or 1 natural 6pin and 1 adapted 6pin per card?

Other information:
Crucial 256GB SSD
Intel core i5 Sandy bridge
EVGA Z68 motherboard
16gb Gskil ripjaw 2133mhz
Window 7

Using the molex to pci-e adapters generally isn't recommended.
If the psu doesn't have the required cables it usually means it's time to buy a new psu.

850w is more then enough for power 2 HD7850's, i noticed that psu comes with 2 8pin pci-e cables as well, are they 6+2 pin cables? You can always use them as well.

That power supply should have 850 watts and two 6-pin and two 6+2-pin connectors, which is more than you need to crossfire the pair of 7850's. Are you sure that you have listed the correct model PSU? Correct GPU's?
