[SOLVED] Thermaltake RGB 700w Running Hot and Loud...

...Only when I bump my resolution to 2560x1440. Its extremely hot and loud after about 10 minutes of play. Im only playing role playing games too. Nothing fancy.
Is it normal for my power supply to behave like this? Its brand new.

I'm guessing the "SMART" RGB?

What graphics card are you using?

It is potentially "normal" behavior since it is a garbage PSU.

Yeah. It"s the Smart RGB 700. Certified 80+ I am on a serious budget.
Im running the MSI GTX 1660 GamingX
Ryzen 5 2600x

Problem with being on a serious budget and buying that PSU is that you're paying extra money for the RGB fan and not paying for a quality PSU.

There's much better units out there without an RGB fan that costs the same.

I mean everything is running smoothly in game. I just don't know if this thing is going to explode, with all of the noise and heat! Lol

It shouldn't explode but judging by your resolution you have a pretty high end PC, this is not appropriate PSU by any means. I suggest you to replace it.
