Hey all,

Need to replace the reimport one slot coin door on my CFTBL. I want
one with coin mechs and a coin box.

Any opinions on this one?

http://www.pinballuniverse.com/coindoors.htm

I would assume that no coin mechs or cash box are included.

Can I use the control panel button panel off my existing door or do you
think this one comes with it? (Is that what "Prewired" means?)

Additionally, if I want it to accept tokens what would I have to do?

Thanks!

That's the standard Entropy coin door used by Williams. It's probably the one
designed for Pinball 2000 games, so you'll need a short adapter cable to
connect it to your WPC-era game like CFTBL. The adapter *may* be included, or
it may be a few bucks extra. The door comes with the 4-button setup used on
WPC and P2K games so you won't need to move the buttons from your existing
door.

Coin mechs and cash box are probably not included. If you want it to accept
tokens you'll need to buy an appropriately-sized token mech; Happ Controls is
probably the easiest place to find them. The token mechs are sold based on
the diameter of the token to be used.

FWIW, the sales guy from Entropy (Carson?) was selling these doors in the
vicinity of $45 last time I checked. Try a Google search for Entropy and coin
door and you'll probably turn up the info.

Carson is no longer with Entropy, he is at Pro Source. He does still have
Entropy products available, though. Call (877) 519-5900 and ask for Carson.

The new ones Carson is selling no longer require the adapter cable, it's
wired straight for a WPC coin door interface board. I'd been in the habit of
cutting the plug off and just crimping the correct molex plug on the end of
the door harness.

His price is $50, you must buy *4*. For a single door, Pinball Life seems to
have the best price - http://www.pinballlife.com

Carson also has Happ Ultimechs available, cost is under $10 each, but I
can't remember exact pricing.

The single slots are sold out and are no longer available.

I used an IDC punchdown tool I got from pinrestore.com to re-connectorize
one of these types of coin doors with the IDC connector that directly fits
the coin door PCB so I didn't have to use that adaptor cable. Funny thing
is the coin door came with the adaptor cable but both sides were female,
like I needed a male to male adaptor just to use that adapter. Crazy.

Buy your coin door here: http://www.pinballlife.com/page382.html Terry will
also hook you up with coin mechs and a cashbox too. It comes with the 4
diagnostics buttons, it's plug and play. If you want to use tokens instead
of quarters mech, you need to use tokens mechs.

And while you're at it, stock up on various very affordable parts for your
machine. Terry and pinball life are second to none in prices, service and
fast shipping when it comes to light bulbs and various other common parts.
Also, you got a cool one, CFTBL that is.

Best of luck.

Yes, the doors are good - to answer the thread's question. It's no big
secret to RGP'ers that Entropy is the OEM for these doors. They are
the Pin2000 doors and they no longer need the adapter harness to fit
WPC games as of this latest produciton run. I am located in Chicago and
buy in bulk for a better price and pay no shipping because I am able to
go pick them up. Even with my bulk door purchases, these doors go
quickly and there seems to ALWAYS be a wait for the next run to arrive.
I currently have only 9 left in stock and do not expect to get any
more until next month. Entropy is sold out, or at least should be as
they only had about 4 cases left after I picked up my order last week.
Thanks to all who have directed others to my site for these... always
much appreciated!
Terry.
