These crazy GPU prices

So I just built my PC about a week ago and all I just need to do is buy a GPU. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get one earlier when I was ordering my other parts due to some family related stuff. I was wondering if it'd be a good idea to get a cheap 1050 2gb as a temporary GPU and upgrade it later in the summer.

Solution
No way of knowing if the prices for higher-end graphic cards will come down by Summer, Winter, August of 2073... no way of knowing. If you need it now, get what you can afford now. If you can wait until you can afford something better, then take a chance that the price won't jump even higher before you've saved enough.

Solution
In your case I'd buy something used. One reason is that the 1050 is entry level. So your performance would be limited. For less money you could get something almost as powerful. But that means hunting for a used card. Since you like Nvidia, I'd look at 660 or 660 Ti, 760 or 770, or even a 950, whatever costs the least. To me, since you know you will moving up to a better card as soon as possible, there's no reason to sink new card money into what you're buying now.
