These expansion cards for Xbox Series X/S....? Are these - worth "off" brand?

I think you should still go for the SEAGATE brand. Kind of hard to comment on that particular model, it's build quality/speed, since I don't own an XBOX console, but which company is that ?

TIANKEN ? Never heard the name.

A quick Google search also did not reveal any concrete info or website on this brand/company. But it looks like some Chinese local firm, IMO (just my guess). If I were you, I won't shell out cash on this brand just to save some bucks, but rather go for Seagate instead.

But maybe other forum members might have a better idea on this brand. Just my 2 cents ! :)

Thanks for the input/quick response! Yeah I mean the only reason this card caught my attention was the 512GB size, as thats exactly what I need (cheaper too) haha...and Seagate everwhere I look is 1TB +..Anywho you are most likely correct, go with Seagate. =)

No worries. Yeah we can't actually fully trust that particular brand's quality/reputation. It might be cheaper though, but we don't know how long will it work properly, before showing signs of wear and tear.

True. I will admit I wish at least a 512gb expansion card would be released by Seagate at a cheaper price. Eventually tho I plan to get a Series X but even then you have still under 1tb, at purchase.

I have the Xbox series s and you are better off with the brand imo. This is a tempting option but what happens when they do a system update that breaks the card? I’ve found if you want to save a few bucks but have fast storage, get s a USB external ssd. You still won’t be able to play Xbox series s/x games directly from it, but you can use it to quickly move games from internal storage to the external. That’s how I use mine.

Now if the games are Xbox one or older and not the Xbox series s/x optimized games then they should play directly from external.

If you are still interested might wanna check this out as well.

Western Digital is about to start selling its own storage expansion cards for Microsoft's Xbox Series X|S game consoles. BestBuy listed these cards on its website over the weekend, ahead of a formal launch, revealing that these devices will be cheaper than those exclusively offered by Seagate for well over two years (via The Verge).

Thank you very much for adding this! I definitely am interested! My Series S is full lol, all I can do is keep transferring games from external HDDs at this point! =) Can't wait for these.
