I was switching parts a few days ago, i accidentally hit the back of my GPU when i was moving my Hyper 212 Evo Heatsink. then the display went off at that time. i took the gpu out and put it back in, now this white line appears on my screen. is it the PCI-E slot for the gpu thatts the issue, or the gpu itself?

Have you tried different ports on the GPU, or used the integrated graphics port on the motherboard?

Try the integrated port, and see if the line persists. If that line persists, it may not be related to the card specifically.

Try different ports on the card, and try reseating the card.

Do you have a different GPU you can try or borrow in that port?

i tried a different GPU to the same mobo, but the same issue persists. how do i try the integrated port on the motherboard? sorry, im kinda new to this DIY computer stuff.

It's quite alright. Above those horizontal slots, there should be some vertical slots around the top of the back where the USB ports are. Try one of those for display output.

If the same issue persisted with a different card it's very well related to that card slot being damaged.

There may be another PCIe slot on your board. It's not optimal, but give that a try too.

Try the integrated graphics port first, and also try a different cable.

I'd say it's a 99.99999999% chance you can't fix the slot. If you get a new mobo, just move everything over and it should work fine.

You said the iGPU turns up nothing? What motherboard was it? Some motherboards don't support iGPU.
