Hi, i recently got my 4670k to 4.2ghz manually after trying the 4ghz genie, i stress tested 4ghz for 12 hours and 4.2 for 8 hours with prime 95 ,everything been working fine and went through stress test ok, been playing games and everything for 2 days now with the 4.2 then today 3 mins into gw2 i got a BSOD, i couldn't read it in time tho, should i revert back to the 4ghz genie clock?

Thanks in advance

What mobo do you have? Could you list out the major parts in your system?

I wouldn't use the overclocking genie - usually they do a horrible job of overclocking. It's actually much safer and not that much more difficult to overclock on your own.

If everything is up to par and you have an aftermarket cpu fan/heatsink, you should be able to hit 4.2/ no problem and probably 4.4-4.6ghz as your highest stable overclock.

CPU: Intel 4670k haswell

cooler: cooler master seiden 120xl (push pull with sp120's)

mobo: MSIz87-gd65

current settings for OC are:

Base clock: 100.00

Multiplier: 42

Fixed mode

Ring ratio: 35

CPU voltage: 1.250 (in overide mode)

CPU ring voltage: 1.125 (overide mode)

VCCIN: 2.100

CIe support: disabled

C state: auto

thanks :)
