Think my cpu is dead

I believe my cpu has failed running on a x99a mpower motherboard. System power cycles on for 2 second off and back on. Removed all peripherals (ram hdd video card everything) still cycling remove cpu power cable it will stay powered up... remove cpu with cpu power plugged in with all peripherals it will stay running. Install cpu power cycles again. I have also jumped my psu and it runs fine. anything eles I should try

I might add I just came back from vacation and the power went out...was working fine before it lost power. maybe a voltage spike or something?

I would try a different power supply first, if that doesn't work then try a different CPU and if that doesn't work then it is probably the motherboard.

I had a boot loop before but all I had to do was reinstall my operating system but that clearly isn't your problem.

CPUs almost never die. Those symptoms can just as easily be caused by a dead power supply or motherboard (or both) as a dead CPU.

Well it seems I should start looking up computer repair shops.. don't have any extra parts to throw at it...
