Hello,

As the topic says, I am thinking of OCing my C2D 2.13ghz. I have an Abit AB9 mobo. Looking into the guide on this site, it says:

Please also use RAM that’s rated:
-DDR2-667 4-4-4-xx (good for ~400Mhz*)
-DDR2-800 5-5-5-xx (good for ~410Mhz*)
-DDR2-800 4-4-4-xx (good for 500Mhz+*) ->Best for E6300/E6400
-DDR2-1066 5-5-5-xx (good for 530Mhz+*)

Now my ram is only Kingston 1GB (2x512MB) (soon getting another gig) DDR2 667 with the following specs:

Speed: PC2-5300 (667MHz)
Timing: CL=5
Voltage: 1.8V
Memory Type: Non-ECC DDR2 PC2-5300 DIMM
Configurations: 64M X 64-bit
Pins: 240-pin Unbuffered DIMM

Now all that being said, is this RAM that I have going to do anything I don't want it to do? I am only using stock cooling that came with the CPU as well.

BTW, I don't know anything about OCing as you might see.

Any help would be great, thanks!

Ok thanks!

I am just not confident in OCing and don't know too much about it as you can see. I'll give it a try slowly and see how it goes.

Ok I successfully over clocked this to 2.6ghz. On idle, I get a temp of about 50-52c. Using the prime95 program, the temp rose to 68c or so. I am happy with what I have now using just a stock cpu fan, but is it safe to go any further now that I am at 1:1 ratio?

I know testing can prove that, but has anyone gone higher then 2.6 on a stock cpu fan?
