I'm looking toward purchasing a new monitor. Mostly I'm interested in a 2k monitor because I feel like it would be closer to my price range.

My current monitor is a E321VL Vizio TV that was bought for console gaming. I'm thinking about upgrading to this monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009849&cm_re=2560_x_1440_tn_panel-_-24-009-849-_-Product however I have also been considering this monitor http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-GW2765HT-27-Inch-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B00KYCSRSG due to it being an ips panel and the top review citing problems with pixels I've been having second thoughts. I want something close to my current monitor with higher resolution but I'm also open to other suggestions.

Well right now I'm running a 780ti with a bit of an overclock. I'm also thinking about upgrading it and at that point I would be back into buying another monitor either at 2k at 144hz or 4k at 60hz but for now with this gpu I'm gonna stick with the 60 hz because I like the higher resolution better. However if you had a monitor in mind that supported 144hz at 2k at a competitive price I certainly wouldn't turn it down.

Right now I'm mostly looking for a monitor in the 300-400 dollar range and honestly I'm not 100% sure when the next gpu upgrade is happening. Do you guys think that higher hz is more important than higher res?

Freesync does not work with nvidia cards though correct?

Have you ever used a monitor/computer with a higher refresh rate? I have not and I was just curious as to whether or not you thought it was a "better" upgrade over a 2k monitor?

Another issue is that I am also looking to upgrade my gpu, definitely seeing a 980ti maybe 2 in the future. Should just save up for a 4k with g-sync? I really would like to do a monitor upgrade soon.
