Thinking about Titan SLI for new triple monitor setup

Hey folks,

Currently running 2 HD 6950's, which have been decent for running eyefinity at 4080x1024, stretched across three 19" monitors... I can't really max out games with them but they do offer good FPS for the most part on games like BF3, not BF4 so much though...

Now, I am going to be purchasing 3 new 24" monitors later on today.. 1980x1024 resolution... Now that multiplied by 3 that's going to push me close to 6000x1280 after bezel compensation... That's a boat load more screen to have to power...

My biggest concern is one thing, and that's video memory. There's no way 3gb of video memory would be able to handle that much screen, so that rules the 780ti out. And based off this logic it makes the TITAN the proper choice correct?

I do plan to SLI whichever card I get sometime in the future. I just want to be sure of my decision before purchase,

Solution

If you think memory will be some problem then try for r9 290x as it has 4 gb GDDR5 memory. And when crossfired it will be enough at that res.
gtx 780ti has 4 gb GDDR5 memory mate, when sli'd...

I'm just not seeing how a video card with only 3GB of memory (no matter how powerful) can support a resolution upwards of 6000x1080, with AA effects, max settings, etc, enabled....

My 2GB of video memory now is nowhere enough at 4080x1024, this becomes really obvious when I turn on AA effects in game (bf4) and my FPS drops like a lead balloon. How is only 1GB more memory going to support a 6000x1080 resolution with AA effects? I've read so many other posts where people with similar resolutions are using upwards of 5.5GB of video memory...

Wrong been there done that. On Ultra settings @ 120Hz + you need something better than 780Ti. That's why I went with Titan X and at triple 1080p it will handle that at 144Hz.
