thinking about upgrade

Hope someone can help.

i bought my pc back in 2013, at the time i was able to play most games at highest setting with ease but recently my system has felt a bit sluggish and some games coming out require better components such as mass effect: andromeda which is my main reason for wanting to upgrade. hopefully i wont have to change too much, but if i do i was hoping for some ideas on what is best value for money at the moment

my current system specs are as follows:

Motherboard - Asrock Z77 extreme4
cpu - i5 3570k
gpu - Gigabyte HD 7970 3GB
ram - 8gb

I would invest in a better GPU & a aftermarket cooler so you can overclock that CPU as far as it will safely go. What is your budget for upgrades?

I have a noctua air cooler for my cpu currently but I'm not confident when it comes to overclocking. I wouldn't like to spend more than £600

Look into overclocking the CPU, its worth it to squeeze as much performance as you can from your CPU to be able to keep up with a new GPU.. As far as the GPU I would put in a GTX 1070 as it will be a big upgrade from your current card.
