Thinking of adding an extra 4gb of ram

Already got a single stick of crucial sport 8gb 1600Mhz 1.5v, will adding a PNY stick with the same specs but 4gb make any difference to gaming??

existing pc spec

I5 3420
AMD 270 dual x
Crucial sport 8gb

mixing ram is a lottery--it may work it may not

but 8gb should be enough any way for most games unless running a load of game mods

Yeah I thought the same myself heard mixing brands isn't good, and also that it's best to match the sizes to so wasn't really sure whether it's actually make it more of a disadvantage!, cheers for the heads up!

even if you got another identical stick to the one you have its not 100% guaranteed to work

though its a lot more likely to

i have mixed ram before and been fine--same for different sizes

and mixed ram before and it wouldnt post--same for different sizes--just your luck
