Thinking of buying a first gaming computer! need help!

i've recently started working so that i could save up for a gaming computer (first ever) and i got a custom build ready, but I'm not sure if its good at all so I need help

I'm also not sure about the PSU, not sure if I need bigger one or not.

You only really need 600w for that system but the cx psu is not one I'd recommend. Swap to this one instead, its cheaper and massively better

Your biggest flaw is your PSU. The CX series for Corsair is faulty. Buy this one instead: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=27992

Only 10 dollars more, but infinitely better. I also think your GPU is weak. If I were you, I would buy the SuperNova PSU and then a better GPU. I'm not that familiar with Raedon, but I would buy something like a 960 or 970 equivalent.

Other than that, it looks good.

I'd stick with the r9 280 over the gtx 960 as it generally performs the same or better and has an extra gb of vRAM

The EVGA B2 is plenty for your build, no need for the g2 unless you're obsessed with power efficiency!

Well that is a much better gpu but if you can afford to spend more then why not go from the fx6300 to the fx8350?

If you're not going to overclock your cpu you might want to consider an i5 build instead

You've been given lots of good advise here, personally overall it looks a good list of parts. The Corsair CX power supplies are well made and good quality so i wouldn't worry about that. As for the graphics i would agree with "plywrlw", the R9 280 (or if you can afford it the 280x) is far better than the gtx960. Go look at benchmarks on youtube and you will see that the 280x easily beats the 960.

Again, I'm not sure about the PSU and if I bought a 144Hz monitor would it work with my build or would I just be better of with a 60Hz monitor instead?

I play a lot of games such as; League of Legends, DotA 2, Battlefield 4, CS GO, WoW, and any modern game released

A lot of the games you play run better on a cpu with strong single threaded performance so definitely an Intel chip if you're not overclocking the cpu. I'll have a look at your build above but it might take a while to click on all those links on my phone!

Corsair Vengeance ram, Cooler Master 212 CPU cooler and 60Hz monitor certainly with the gtx960. If you switch to either a gtx970 or R9 290 then the 144Hz monitor would be worth it
