Thinking of buying Gigabyte GTX 1070

I am in the thoughts of getting a 1070 as the title suggests. I currently am sitting on an i5-7600k, a Gigabyte G1 970 and a 1080p 144hz monitor. Also I do have 16gb of 2133Mhz ram installed. Evga 80 Plus 500w PSU aswell.

I am tempted to buy a 1440p monitor in the near future so I wonder what I should get first, as my economy as a student doesn't allow me to buy both at the same time.

This is the monitor I am thinking about:
AOC 27" LED Q2778VQE

And this is the gpu:
GeForce® GTX 1070 G1 Gaming 8G

What do you guys think?

Look at the GTX 1080 prices and compare to the GTX 1070.

Right now the GTX 1080 is the better buy for the money.

As I said, I am a student and money is a limiting factor to me so I can't really push my budget to a 1080, would love to, but simply can't afford it right now.

Just check the prices really well between them, you should fine some GTX 1080's that are very close to the GTX 1070 price wise.

The Mining craze has jacked up the GTX 1070 prices to near or more than GTX 1080 prices.
