I am fairly new to the MMORPG world and have been playing WoW for a
bit of time. Have enjoyed Wow for the most part but will be hitting 60
shortly and ahve been losing interest in the game for various reasons.
Have been looking at other online games to try and nothing is grabbing
my attention except for this one. I like the aspect of Wow of doing
quests or missions solo or jumping into instances with groups, playing
however I feel. What is the good or bad of DAOC? Worth Starting it as
a newbie from the beginning. Give the good, the bad and the ugly!
Thanks!!

I've played DAOC for a year, love it, wife and I and our 2 kids all have an
account, If you liked WoW then you should like DAOC also, they are both in
my opinion a 100 times better than EQ, and EQ2, I've tried all 4 and WoW and
DAOC are my favorites. I'm still playing my WoW account along with my DAOC
one, can't make up my mind which to stick with, I have to soon cause wife
says I have to choose LOL.

You will find DAoC far more varied, loads of different classes with a lot of
viable specs.
Certain aspects are not as accessable as WoW but the programmers are taking
notes and things are appearing :) Stuff like displaying how much bonus you
have etc.
Quests, more complex and probably more irratating - but you don't have to do
them (not a fan of quests which is probably why I didn't get on with WoW).
Battle grounds (RvR) - excellent.
Free levels and dungeon (instant) tasks for Xp make for steady progression.
Player base is relatively mature - I think the idiot are all playing WoW :)
Graphics more natural and less cartoony (sounds too, although personallly I
liked WoW sampled sounds).
If you play on a populated server like Merlin or Lancelot there is a good
mix of players. Some people complain about getting groups but I never have a
problem (although I play group friendly characters).
To conclude, if you like a challenge (plus pretty good RvR and about to get
better), and if you don't mind complexity, then DAoC is your boy :)
On the other hand, if you like just to play a game to relax and not think
about game play then stick to WoW (although to be fair I have only played
for about a month before getting very bored - although I loved WC3).
