Hi,
I have a new Dell XPS 9000 with (one) 1tb drive running Windows 7 Ultimate and I would like to add a Raid 1 configuration.
I want to see if I have this correct.
I could either:
1) Clone everything to a third drive, then use the built in raid controller on the motherboard, add a second 1tb drive, create the raid 1, clone everything back.
or
2) Add a second 1tb drive, use “disk management” in Windows 7 to create the raid 1 (I "think" since I have Win 7 Ultimate I can do this). This would save me from cloning.
Please let me know if I understand this correctly.
I'm leaning towards second one because it's easier and the machine is fast enough that I shouldn't notice a difference in speed.
THANKS!!!
