Thinking of Upgrading CPU?

So I am currently running on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I currently have an AMD-FX 6300 in my computer. I was thinking about upgrading to an AMD-FX 8350. I have never upgraded processors before- I was wondering if there is anything I need to know before upgrading (like, do I need to re-install my OS? Will my computer be okay?) Plan on getting the new processor to help with gaming and rendering out videos (I do a lot of heavy video editing.). Any reasons why I should or shouldn't upgrade? Current processor is fine- but I wouldn't mind have a little more juice for my computer. I have to switch out a couple of parts in the computer anyway so was thinking about just upgrading now instead of later. What are your thoughts?

Are you sure? You checked the revision of your motherboard and the BIOS version and it is ok? If so you can install the 8350 with no problem. You don't have to re-install windows or make any change to your system. As for the upgrade I would say yes. 8350 is more powerfull than the 6300 and on video editing is one of the best.

I think it will work. The BIOS version is 04.06.05 and the date is 01/28/13
You wouldn't happen to know if the CPU will still work with my motherboard would you? I want to make sure nothing goes wrong before I get the thing.

So you have rev3.0 . You are ok this revision of the motherboard supports 8350 from the initial release of the bios. So with FC version you can install it with no problem. Just remove the 6300 and put 8350. You don't have to do anything else.
