Hello everyone.

i bought this PC 4 years ago and i'm thinking of upgrading it
this is my current PC:

CPU: i5-4690
CPU cooler: Corsair H60
MB : Asrock B85 Pro4
GPU : gigabyte gtx 770 windforce 3x
Ram: hyperX 2x8 (16)
PSU : evga supernova 850w gold
case: Nzxt phantom 410

this is what im thinking of buying
i5-8600k
ASUS Prime Z370-A
G.Skill TridentZ 2x8
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW GAMING
NZXT S340 elite
im going to stick with my CPU cooler and PSU

do you suggest another RAM and MB ?

G'day there.

You wanting to upgrade your whole PC? Well lets go through it.

The parts you have picked are pretty decent and I don't have any complaints against it.

I'd recommend going with a Z370 motherboard rather than a B85 motherboard. The ASUS Prime Z370-A would be a great choice.

You said you would use the same CPU cooler that you used for the i5-4690. Make sure that it will fit on the motherboard with the cooler standoffs. And be sure to clean off the old thermal paste on your CPU cooler and apply new thermal paste.

As @lancerzero9 stated, the new graphics cards (GTX 1180) are expected to release in the next few months. They are 50% more powerful than a GTX 1080 and 20% more powerful than a GTX 1080 Ti. If you can, wait for...

fyi, new graphics cards are coming out in a few months most likely. RAM prices will soon drop too due to suspected price fixing. I would wait if you're doing a full rebuild. And personally I think you are on barrowed time on that cpu cooler. 4 years is a long time to get out of an AIO in my expierence, but use it till it dies.

Hope this helped!

No worries.

The RAM is fine in my books. It's DDR4 and runs at 3000Mhz, that is completely fine.

As for the motherboards, both are pretty similar. It's just personal preference from here, but personally I'd go with the ASUS Prime Z370-A motherboard.
