Hi,
I am thinking of purchasing a new P53 ThinkPad on Amazon. The precise model number is 20QN002LUS , which is different from the model number of the P53 ThinkPads sold on Lenovo's website. Are there really different models or does it only imply differences in RAM, GPU, and so on?
Also, while we are at it, I am thinking of buying this computer for its RAM (16GB) and CPU (intel7, 6 cores) (I work with big data and mathematics softwares). I don't really need the GPU (NVIDIA quadro T1000), but if it allows me to do decent gaming, I'm ready to put in a little extra. I'm sure that I can find lighter and cheaper computers that will satisfy my needs, but I am told that the ThinkPads are reliable and have the best lifespan. I don't mind the size of the laptop and am under the (maybe false) impression that bigger laptops are tougher than slim and compact ones (hence, I rejected the X1's and the Dell XPS 15). Oh and I considered the T490, but to get better RAM and CPU, I had to customize it on Lenovo's website which ultimately raised its prize above that of the P53.
Is my reasoning correct here?
Thanks a lot!
