This article confused me at first. The X1 Carbon has been out for a long time now. After doing some research it looks like Lenovo is preparing to launch it's 2nd generation of the X1. Something that the article doesn't point out.

Don't confuse the X1 mentioned here with the original, which is now being branded by Lenovo as the 'X1 Carbon Gen 1'. Even more confusing is while all the specs mentioned in the article are clearly about Gen 2, the price of $1299 is what the Gen 1's are going for on the Lenovo website.
