I am trying to use three monitors on my r9 270x. It will display on two of my monitors but not the third one. The third one is detected jut wont display anything. I am using dvi to dvi, dvi to dvi and hdmi to hdmi
Make sure that one of your monitors is using video display. For example you can have vga, dvi and displayport, or converter to display port. That should fix it

Are all 3 monitors the same make/model?
If not, that might be your issue: http://support.amd.com/en-us/search/faq/170
"1 Monitors connected to the DVI outputs must be identical."
You can also try an ACTIVE DisplayPort to XXX adapter and that usually works too.

Most cards do NOT have 2 DVI-D (digital).
You can run all 3 monitors (usually) if you are using all three digital ports.
Display port, HDMI, and DVI-D
That being said, Win 8.1 sees all three of mine, but won't allow the third. (it did before) then I tried upgrading to a GTX 970.
UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
