Dear Community,

I built my PC last year, and recently I've been encountering a frustrating issue. While Windows consistently boots up, there are occasions when my GPU isn't detected, resulting in no display output.

Even though I can access my PC remotely using Teamviewer, indicating that Windows is running fine, the GPU isn't recognized in the Device Manager. To resolve this, I've tried various fixes like resetting/updating the BIOS, removing and reinserting the RAM, and adjusting PSU cables to the GPU. Strangely, after numerous attempts, sometimes after I've almost given up hope, the GPU suddenly springs back to life, and everything functions perfectly. Most of the time after removing one stick of RAM. I replaced the sticks like two days ago, but didn't solve the problem. However, this temporary fix lasts only a day or two before the problem resurfaces, even if I haven't made any changes to the hardware.

When the GPU is detected, the system works PERFECTLY, however.

Here are the essential specs of my system:

Motherboard: GIGABYTE B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2

BIOS Version: FC, dated 03/24/2023

Chipset: AMD B550

Memory: 16GB DDR4 RAM @ 1333 MHz (Corsair CMK32GX4M2Z3600C18)

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT (Navi22 XT) by Sapphire Technology, equipped with 12GB GDDR6 VRAM

Storage: 1TB and 2TB NVMe SSDs (CT1000P3PSSD8 and CT2000P3SSD8, respectively)

Sound: ATI/AMD Navi2x and AMD Family 17h/19h HD Audio Controllers

Network: RealTek RTL8125 Gaming 2.5GbE Ethernet Controller and Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 160MHz

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Home (x64) Build 22631.3296

PSU: MSI MPG A850G PCIE5

Many thanks in advance for your support.

Verify the revision of motherboard (there are several) you have and then update the BIOS to the most recent version. See if that helps stabilize your system.

The revision is often stenciled on the motherboard itself, indicated in the box it came in on a label, or can be identified using CPU-Z (mainboard tab).

Thanks a lot, mine is REV 1.3. Unfortunately, I tried already this Q-Flash way with no success.

Your memory part number indicates a 2x16GB kit. Do you only have one stick of memory installed?

Are you overclocking anything (CPU, GPU, memory)?

At this point, we are down to the GPU or the motherboard as the likely issue. That is why I asked about alternative devices.

Sure, I totally share the alternative devices approach, it would seriously help to frame the culprit.

No overclock.

Regarding the RAM, yes, at the moment I left only one stick in.

Thanks again

With both sticks installed, they should be in slots A2 and B2 for optimal, dual channel use.

Is that how you had them installed?
Yes, thanks for the hint. That was the standard configuration of my system(A2,B2). But then I found out that moving the sticks around, somehow helped the system to boot sometimes. So now it is temporarily in this status and running.

Without being able to swap parts, we really can't isolate a hardware issue.

One thing we could try is to boot your system with a live Linux distribution. If all is stable with Linux (you don't install the OS), then we may be chasing a Windows problem.

This feels like a hardware issue though.

Thanks I will try with the USB bootable system.

Should I first try to send the GPU into warranty or the MB in your opinion?
